RLA Aliphatic Top coat

DESCRIPTION

RLA ATC is a single pack, liquid applied, aliphatic polyurethane waterproof topcoat designed for application over the RLA PU850 membrane for external, exposed membrane applications. The moisture curing aliphatic technology provides strong protection against UV, while maintaining a durable, highly flexible seamless finish

USES

• ATC is formulated as a protective topcoat for PU850, providing long-term UV protection and colour fastness

APPLICATION & COVERAGE

• Allow the PU850 membrane to cure between 24 to 36 hours prior to installing ATC. Do not leave longer than 48 hours
• Lightly mix with a low speed mixer before use
• Using a brush, medium nap roller or notched squeegee, apply an even and consistent coat to the surface at a coverage of 1litre/3m2 achieving a wet film thickness (WFT) of 300microns and a dry film thickness (DFT) of 200 microns
• RLA recommends regular testing of the depth of the coat with a wet film thickness gauge at regular intervals during installation
• The application of ATC can be achieved in 1 x coat
• For areas subject to pedestrian traffic, or for enhanced durability, a second coat can be applied at right angles to the first coat
• Recoating of ATC must be done within 24 hours
• If exceeding 24 hours, surface must be lightly sanded, with a fine grade sandpaper and residues removed before recoating

LIMITATIONS

• Do not apply when surface or ambient temperatures are below 5°C or above 35°C
• Must not be applied if raining or if rain is imminent
• Must not be used over damp surfaces as the product will not adhere. Surfaces must dry free from surface water, continuous or residual dampness
• Not suitable for exposure to chlorine levels above 10ppm
• Not to be used as a wearing surface for heavy foot traffic or vehicular traffic
