Hydroflow UV

Hydroflow UV is an elastomeric one-part polyurethane/acrylic, fibre reinforced, water-based membrane developed as a high-performance internal/external membrane for most general waterproofing applications.

Hydroflow UV is suitable for external applications where a UV stable, occasionally foot trafficable membrane is required.

Application areas include:

• Internal wet areas such as bathrooms & showers
• External wet areas such as balconies, decks & rooftops

Based on a unique polyurethane technology, Hydroflow UV provides the applicator a single part membrane which achieves good film build, with excellent reinforced and elastomeric properties once the membrane has cured.

Hydroflow UV possesses excellent low water vapour transmission properties and is fully compatible with most polymer modified cement-based tiles adhesives, screeds, and renders.

Hydroflow UV is tested and fully meets the requirements of:

• AS/NZS 4858:2004 Wet area membranes as a Class III membrane
• AS3740: 2021 Waterproofing of wet areas within residential buildings
• AS4654.1 & AS4654.2 Waterproofing membranes for external above-ground use

General Application Details:

• Surfaces must be clean, dry, suitably prepared and in a sound state prior to beginning the application
• Masonry surfaces must be pointed flush and surface defects repaired
• Hydroflow UV membrane should be lightly stirred before using and may be applied to vertical or horizontal surfaces using a roller or brush
• Substrates must be primed before applying the membrane. There are a range of primers suitable for a variety of substrates and applications
• As a wet area membrane Hydroflow UV requires a suitable bond breaker at all substrate junctions and/or movement joints. Detailing tape such as Hyperband or Omniflex should be used, alternatively, equivalent bond breaking methods compliant with AS3740 & the NCC may be used
• Apply a minimum of 2 coats at a total rate of 1.5 litres/m2 to achieve a minimum dry film thickness of 0.9mm
• Drying times: Re-coat 2-4 hours, Dry film 8-12 hours, Tiling/topping 24-48 hours, Full cure/flood test – 10 days (Based on normal ambient conditions of 23OC, 50% RH)
